To start this problem, we're going to factor all of the
denominators.
So X ^2 - 6 X +8 is X - 2 X -4 X squared minus nine, X + 20 is X
- 4 X -5 X squared minus seven, X + 10 is X - 2 X -5 and X ^2 +
2 X -35 is X - 5 X +7.
So just looking at the numerator, getting a common
denominator would be X - 2 * X - 4 * X - 5.
So that first term needs an X - 5 on the top and the bottom.
The next term needs to have an X -, 2 multiplied on both the top
and the bottom.
If we're looking at the denominator, our common
denominator there is going to be X -, 2 X -5 X +7.
So the first term in the denominator has to be multiplied
in the top and the bottom by X + 7, and the second one, both the
top and the bottom have to get multiplied by X -, 2.
So now we're going to distribute those numerators out.
So if I have 2 * X and 2 * -5 that's going to give me two X -
10 + 2 * X two X 2 * -2 negative 4.
The denominator stays the same and do the same thing in the
bottom.
So 2 * X two X 2 * 714 two times X again 2 X 2 * -2 -, 4 once
again keeping that denominator what it had been.
So now if we combine like terms, we going to get four X -, 14 in
the top.
And we realized that both 4X and 14 are even.
So we could factor out A2 to get two times the quantity two X -,
7 denominator still says the same.
Now in the bottom part, when we combine our like terms here, we
get four X + 10.
Once again, 4X and 10 are both even.
So we're going to pull out A2 and that's going to give us two
times two X + 5.
I'm going to flip it so that we can multiply instead of divide.
So that X -, 2, X -5 and X + 7 are going to go on top.
Now the X -, 2 here and the X -, 2 here are going to cancel.
The two here and the two here are going to cancel.
And finally the X -, 5 here and the X -, 5 here are going to
cancel.
So we're going to get two X - 7 * X + 7 / X - 4 times two X + 5.
